Recent Access Issues and Anti-Spam Measures

Some of you may have recently experienced problems accessing the forum — such as slow page loads, registration issues, or unusual logouts. I want to explain what’s been going on and what steps have been taken to improve things.

What happened:
The forum was being hit by a high volume of automated bots and crawlers. These were not regular search engine bots, but spam bots that attempted to register accounts or scrape data, and in some cases overloaded the site.

What’s been done:
• Several suspicious IP ranges have been blocked from accessing the forum.
• Known bots (such as Amazonbot and SemrushBot) have been registered in the system, so they are now handled appropriately and restricted from behaving like guests.

These changes should help reduce unwanted activity and improve site performance and reliability.
